Decision Support/Data Warehousing Constituent Group

The EDUCAUSE Decision Support (DS) constituent group discusses organizational and technological problems, issues, tools, and solutions for managerial decision–making, strategic planning, and information reporting. The DS group also explores topics related to two predecessor constituent groups, Executive Information Systems (EIS) and Institutional Research (IR). The goal is for members to share with their colleagues lessons learned and best practices in decision–support tools and processes. Decision support is broadly defined, and includes topics on EIS, data warehousing, data mining, data marts, and OLAP. This is an opportunity to share the "good, bad, and ugly" of decision support with other information professionals. This group meets at the EDUCAUSE annual conference and uses the electronic discussion list to discuss issues throughout the year.
